Before you leave service, open Tools → Offline maps and grab a state or a custom-drawn area. Downloaded maps, search, and tap-to-identify all work in airplane mode.

Yes. Start recording and lock the phone — your track keeps recording in the background. If the phone dies or the app is closed mid-ride, everything recorded up to that moment is saved and reopens with the app; a phone that is off can’t record the rest.

Say “Hey Siri, mark a waypoint in SK Maps” — or name the type, like “mark a hazard in SK Maps.” It works with no signal, including airplane mode. Finish the sentence with in SK Maps; “mark a waypoint” on its own isn't enough for Siri. For capture with the screen off, allow Always location.

iOS asks once whether to turn on SK Maps shortcuts, and that prompt is easy to dismiss. Until you say yes, every phrase fails with no explanation. Open the Shortcuts app, find SK Maps under App Shortcuts and make sure they're switched on — or check Settings → Apps → SK Maps. Then make sure the phrase ends with in SK Maps. It isn't a signal problem: the commands work in airplane mode once they're on. See the voice guide.

Yes — open a GPX, GeoJSON, KML, or KMZ file into SK Maps (from Files, Messages, or another app) and review it before saving. Your data comes over with its routes, and its colors and icons where the file carries them. You can also export your own data as GPX to share back. See the import guide.

Yes — a route can carry options: an out-and-back spur, or a fork with the technical line on one side and the bypass on the other. Add them while you're drawing the route with the branch button in the plan bar, or later from the route's OPTIONS card, then pick which ones you're riding on the day. Two ways. With iCloud backup on (SK Maps Settings → iCloud Backup, on by default), sign the new phone into the same Apple ID, open SK Maps and tap Restore from iCloud in the same place. On a phone with no data of its own yet, SK Maps finds the backup after setup and asks “Restore from iCloud?” on its own, with when and from which device it was made. Or go by file: Tools → Import & export → Export all data writes one backup with every waypoint, track, trip, photo, and setting; import that file on the new phone. Re-importing the same backup is safe — it merges instead of making duplicates.

Tools → Settings → SK Maps subscription opens the purchase sheet; Restore Purchases is on it. It asks Apple for the subscription or One-Time Unlock on this Apple ID. Purchases follow the Apple ID, so they work on your other devices too.

In the iPhone’s Settings, tap your name → Subscriptions → SK Maps → Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel it. You keep the paid features until the period you’ve paid for ends.

Yes: buy it from the same sheet, then cancel the subscription in Settings → Subscriptions. Buying the unlock does not cancel the subscription for you; Apple keeps billing it until you do, and SK Maps shows a “Subscription still renewing” row in Settings to remind you.

The map opens, you can record rides, mark waypoints by hand, import files, follow a saved route, search, and view and export everything you’ve saved. Every offline map (downloaded states and drawn USGS Topo or satellite areas), route planning and options, fuel range, waypoints by voice and off-route alerts pause until you subscribe again or buy the unlock. If your plan ends mid-ride, offline maps and off-route alerts keep working while you record or follow, for up to 72 hours. Your downloads are never deleted, and they draw again the moment you do. A plan that’s renewing keeps access for up to 7 days if the App Store can’t be reached; a canceled one ends on its date.
